St. John currently has two school counselors to provide aid to our students when necessary

Ms. Johnson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Counselor Education degree from the University of New Orleans. She holds memberships with the American School Counseling Association, Louisiana Counseling Association and Louisiana School Counseling Association and is a National Certified Counselor. 

Ms. Johnson coordinates information about ACT and SAT planning, scholarship, and college entrance applications, and procedures applicable to TOPS and CORE 4 graduation requirements. Course scheduling and administering of all standardized tests (EXPLORE, PLAN, PSAT, Aspire) is coordinated through the Guidance Office as well. She assists students with career exploration and planning and provides academic and career resources for additional information.

Mrs. Miller holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans in Rehabilitation Counseling. She also holds a Masters of Education degree from LSU-Baton Rouge in School Counseling. She is a certified school counselor through the State Department of Education. She is a member of the Louisiana Counselors Association as well as the Louisiana School Counselors Association.

Mrs. Miller is the chairperson of the Individual Needs Committee and works closely with the students who have been evaluated and diagnosed with learning disabilities. With the assistance of the committee members, Minor Adjustment Plans are prepared for the students who have been diagnosed. The guidance counselor also works with students by presenting programs on bullying, harassment, and other behavior issues.
