Every year, the schools of the Diocese of Baton Rouge each recognize an individual whose outstanding volunteer service and unwavering dedication to home, school, and church are exemplary. This year, St. John Interparochial School is proud to honor and congratulate Mrs. Melissa Hanks as our 2024 Mother Seton Award recipient!
Melissa has proven to be an invaluable member of the St. John School community as she has volunteered her time in many different areas. Whether contributing to sporting events, book fairs, uniform sales, or campus cleanups, she consistently demonstrates a willingness to lend a hand wherever it is needed. Melissa's contributions encompass roles such as Drum Corps Sponsor, Cheer Sponsor, Track/Field Assistant Coach, Book Fair Chairperson, and Used Uniform Sale Coordinator. Alongside her family, she actively participated in campus cleanup efforts following storm damage and contributed to summer work days in preparation for the new school year. Melissa also plays a role in the St. Clement and St. John Church Cleanup Teams, serves as a 4H Skeet Instructor, and has fulfilled responsibilities as a Cub Scout Den Leader. Melissa and her husband, Kent, have three children - Eleyna, a 2023 St. John Graduate, Andrew, an 11th grader, and John, a 9th grader.
We appreciate the time and effort Melissa has shared with St. John School and are happy to recognize her this year as our Mother Seton Award recipient. Eagle Family, join us in congratulating and thanking Melissa for being a part of our St. John Eagle family! 🦅 #SJEagles #EaglePride #WeAreStJohn
